Revista Latinoamericana de Estudios de la Escritura (RLEE) is an international, semi-annual, open-access, peer-reviewed, multilingual journal published by The WAC Clearinghouse. RLEE publishes original empirical research articles on writing in Spanish, Portuguese, or English. Its aims and scope cover writing at different stages of the lifespan, both within and outside educational institutions, and with diverse research methods. We do not charge publication fees.
RLEE approaches writing research from diverse disciplinary fields, including interdisciplinary approaches. Its topics include the writing development; how writing is taught and learned; the social role of writing; institutional and informal contexts of learning to write; distributed and social processes of text production; literacy in vernacular, educational, disciplinary, and professional contexts; cognitive processes related to writing; relationships between cognition and literacy; written genres; academic and non-academic writing; technological transformations of writing processes, forms, and distribution; writing across the curriculum; and writing program administration, among others. RLEE publishes empirical articles using qualitative, quantitative, or mixed research methods and promotes the development of theoretical discussions based on research data. Its multilingual character seeks to create a unique venue where scholars from around the world can showcase their research. Our first issue can be consulted here: https://wac.colostate.edu/rlee/ The journal welcomes original empirical research articles of up to 8,500 words that have not been previously published in any language and that address writing topics that align with our aims and scope. We also welcome 2,000-word reviews of books published no more than three years ago. Manuscripts of articles and reviews, as well as peer reviews will be submitted and handled only through the journal’s platform: https://wac.colostate.edu/rlee/submissions/ We are open to submissions year-round, but we recommend submitting before September, 2024 to be considered for the second issue (first semester of 2025).
